I’m hesitant to say number one or two just because… But since they are in New Jersey and I’m in New Jersey, they are number one for now.įirst off, they have a beautiful space and the staff is all smiles and warm greetings. I’m vegan, and I have been eating at vegetarian and vegan restaurants for over 35 years, and Veganized has catapulted into my top three of all time. Perhaps we will try the entrees next time but I would go again for the appetizers. The bathrooms are clean, warm and well appointed. The ambiance was very "clubby" with a steady diet of Latin inspired heavy bass dance tracks. I had the Fuego but was underwhelmed with the heat and the liquor content. Overall the empanadas were the best.ĭrinks are available and reasonable. We loved the coating (spicy BBQ sauce) and the crunchy texture. Next we had the Cuban chicken bites which were the deal of the day. We thought the plantains were over done and the shrimp nearly indistinguishable but none the less was enjoyable. ![]() Next we had the Tostones Rellenos with shrimp. We had decided before hand to stay strictly with appetizers and we were not disappointed! First we had chicken and beef empanadas (I think the chicken was more flavorful) with an amazingly spicy sauce along and the croquetas which were OK but nothing to write home about. About half the tables were occupied with a steady flow of diners. We had made reservations but they were not needed. We enjoyed Esquina! We dined on a Sunday evening after a performance at the State Theatre. ![]()
